Editorial/Advisory Board Policy
Research Summit follows the recommendations of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) in its policy selection of members of the editorial and advisory board of the journal.
Editorial/Advisory Board Structure and Selection
- The editorial board is headed by the Chief Editor, who is a medical professional with a doctorate and a specialization degree such as FCPS, MD, MS, or an equivalent foreign qualification.
- The editorial board consists of the Chief Editor, the Associate Editor, the Assistant Editor, and members.
- The Chief Editor and editors of Research Summit select the members of the advisory board and editorial board.
- The members of the Editorial/Advisory board should have a strong record of research publications.
- Highly qualified Editorial/Advisory board members from various disciplines and capabilities have been selected by the Editor-in-Chief.
- Advisory/Editorial board consists of both national and international members. At least 25% members are international and belong to research-oriented institutions.
- All Editorial Board members should contribute editorials.
- All members of the Editorial/Advisory board must review and approve the policy document. The policy document will be displayed on the journal’s website.
- All members of the Advisory/Editorial board maintain their freedom and autonomy in decision-making, policy-making, assessing & practising the work ethics and professional conduct.
- The contact details and email addresses of all members of the Advisory/Editorial board shall be displayed on the journal’s website and print version.
- To ensure the smooth functioning of the journal, the Editors are responsible for conducting the Editorial Board meetings regularly.
Responsibilities of Editorial Board/Advisory Board
- Shall review and approve the policy of the journal.
- Assist in the smooth processing of manuscripts.
- Provide guidance on author complaints and appeals.
- Encourage and support the research process.
- Have updated knowledge and practice of ethical guidelines.
- Encourage and nominate new members of the Editorial/Advisory Board.
- Advisory board gives opinions and recommendations on aims and scope of the journal, assesses the functionality and practicability of current policies, helps implement new practices, reviews ethical processes, and assists the Chief Editorial board in decision-making.
- Must assist with, collaborate in, and observe the smooth and transparent functioning of the peer review process.
