Scientific Misconduct Policy

The Scientific misconduct policy of Research Summit is based on the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the guidelines laid down by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, and Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC).

The following acts are considered scientific misconduct under the Research Summit policy:

  • Falsification or fabrication of scientific data.
  • Plagiarism from others’ contents, ideas, or language.
  • Ghost, guest, or gift authorship.
  • Disputed credit and recognition among authors.
  • Re-submission or re-publishing the same research under a different title or as new work in another journal
  • Manipulating data to obtain desired results

·         False accusations of misconduct, failure to report known cases of misconduct, or withholding relevant information.

Actions taken in cases of possible misconduct

  • The submitted manuscript will be withheld from processing.
  • If a misconduct is identified after publication, the editors may retract the article from the journal's website and issue a post-publication notice or erratum.
  • An investigation may be initiated, and the relevant institution may be notified of the misconduct attributed to the authors.
  • The editors reserve the right to blacklist the author from future submissions to the journal.
